Our candle-making workshop is a relaxed, hands-on experience designed for date nights, birthdays, family outings, bridal showers, girls’ days and anyone looking for something creative to do in Frederick, Maryland. No previous experience is necessary—we’ll guide you through the entire experience from your first scent choice to your finished candle.

During your workshop, you will:

- Explore a wide selection of fragrances
- Select one fragrance for your candle
- Prepare and pour your candle with guidance from our team
- Learn how to properly care for and burn your finished candle
- Take your completed candle home at the end of your visit
Guests select one fragrance from the available workshop collection. Fragrances cannot be mixed or blended together.
Because our vessel selection changes throughout the year, every visit offers something a little different—from classic everyday styles to limited seasonal designs.

The $38 workshop ticket covers the guided candle-making experience and the materials used to create your candle. Your vessel is selected and purchased separately so you can choose the size, style and price that work best for you.
Outside vessels cannot be brought from home for use during the workshop.
Ways to Make a Candle With Us
Scheduled Saturday Workshops
Our regularly scheduled candle-making workshop is offered on Saturdays at 12 p.m.
Additional Saturday times, occasional Sunday workshops and special holiday dates may be added throughout the year. A 4 p.m. Saturday workshop is generally opened only when the noon workshop is full or nearly full, although select 4 p.m. dates may already be available.

Weekday Walk-In Candle Making
Walk-in candle making is currently available:
- Tuesday–Thursday from 12–4 p.m.
- Friday from 12–6 p.m.
Walk-in hours are a great option for individuals, couples and smaller groups who want to create without waiting for a scheduled Saturday workshop.
Private Candle-Making Workshops
Looking for a creative birthday party, bridal shower, book-club gathering, neighborhood get-together, company outing or private night with friends?
Private candle-making workshops may be available outside our normal walk-in and scheduled-workshop hours for groups of five or more. Depending on your group size, preferred date and desired experience, additional private-use options may also be available.
Food and Drinks
Candle-making guests are welcome to bring their own food and alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages.
Please bring any cups, ice, plates, utensils, serving pieces or other supplies your group may need. Guests choosing to bring alcohol must meet all applicable age requirements and enjoy it responsibly.
Age and Adult Participation
Candle-making workshops are designed for guests ages 10 and older because participants handle hot wax, fragrance oils and workshop equipment.
Anyone under 18 must participate with a ticketed adult unless LiveYoung Candle Co. has provided prior approval for another arrangement. An adult attending to assist or supervise a child must also purchase a workshop ticket and participate.
If you would like to ask about a child younger than 10, please contact us before purchasing tickets. Exceptions may be considered individually based on the child and workshop, but approval is not guaranteed.
Please Allow the Full Two Hours
The pace of each workshop varies depending on attendance, vessel selections and how quickly guests choose their fragrances.
After everyone has finished pouring, we provide candle-care instructions and take the candles to our wrapping area. Candles are returned as they are ready, generally by group.
Please plan for approximately two hours from the scheduled start of the workshop until you leave with your finished candle. This timeframe includes creating, candle-care instructions, wrapping and checkout.
Taking Your Candle Home
Guests should plan to take their finished candles home at the end of the workshop. Please keep your candle upright and follow the transportation and candle-care instructions provided by our team.
For guests visiting from out of town or unable to safely transport their candles, shipping is available for a $15 charge. This fee covers both shipping and the protective packaging materials needed to help your candle arrive safely.
Cancellation and Ticket-Transfer Policy
All workshop ticket sales are final and nonrefundable.
If you are unable to attend, your ticket may be transferred to another available workshop date or time. You must contact LiveYoung Candle Co. before the original workshop’s scheduled start time to request a transfer.
If you contact us after the workshop has begun or do not attend without notifying us in advance, your ticket will be forfeited and cannot be refunded or transferred.
Workshop Purpose & Recording Policy
LiveYoung Candle Co. workshops are recreational, hands-on experiences created for guests who want to relax, connect and enjoy making something personal. They are not professional training courses or instruction for manufacturing candles, teaching workshops or starting a candle business.
To protect our proprietary processes, we do not provide formulas, measurements, supplier information, sourcing guidance, production training or business advice during our workshops.
Photos and short videos for personal memories and social media are always welcome. Recording our instruction, demonstrations or processes for reference, reproduction, training or commercial purposes is not permitted.
LiveYoung Candle Co. reserves the right to decline or cancel a registration when a workshop is being attended primarily for professional training, business development or reproduction of our workshop format.

Is the candle included in the $38 workshop ticket?

Can I bring a vessel from home?
No. For safety and performance reasons, all candles must be created in one of the vessels currently approved and offered for our workshops.
Do I need candle-making experience?
Not at all. Our team will guide you through the experience. The workshop is designed for beginners and guests who simply want to enjoy making something creative.
Can I mix or blend fragrances?
No. Each guest selects one fragrance from the options available during the workshop. We do not mix or blend multiple fragrances together.
Will I take my candle home that day?
Yes. Guests should plan to leave with their candles at the end of the workshop. Please allow approximately two hours for the complete experience.
Do I need a reservation?
Advance reservations are required for scheduled workshops. Walk-in candle making is available during the posted weekday walk-in hours.
Availability can vary, particularly for groups, so larger walk-in groups may wish to contact the store before visiting.
Can someone attend without making a candle?
Every person attending the workshop area must have a ticket and participate. This includes adults attending to assist or supervise children.
What happens if I cannot attend?
Contact us before your workshop’s scheduled start time. Although tickets are nonrefundable, we can transfer your ticket to another available workshop date or time when advance notice is provided.
Tickets are forfeited when a guest does not attend or contacts us after the workshop has already begun.
Is this a professional candle-making course?
No. Our workshops are recreational DIY experiences and do not provide formulas, supplier information, production training or business instruction.
