LiveYoung Candle Co. offers hands-on candle-making, perfume and cologne-making, and goat’s milk soap-making workshops at our Frederick, Maryland studio. Our workshops are designed to be relaxed, social DIY experiences—perfect for trying something new, spending time with friends, celebrating a special occasion, or planning a creative day out.

Candle-Making Workshops
Choose one fragrance from our seasonal scent collection, select the vessel you would like to use, and pour your own custom candle with guidance from our team.
- Ages 10 and older
- $38 per participant, plus the cost of your chosen vessel
- Vessels generally range from $6 to $40
- Plan for approximately two hours
- Food and drinks are welcome
- Scheduled Saturday workshops and weekday walk-in hours are available

Perfume and Cologne-Making Workshops
Explore a curated collection of fragrance options and create a perfume or cologne that feels completely personal to you. Each participant leaves with one 50 ml bottle of their custom fragrance.
- Ages 14 and older
- $60 per participant
- Approximately two hours
- Drinks are welcome; food is not permitted during the workshop
- Offered on select Friday evenings

Goat’s Milk Soap-Making Workshops
Create three bars of goat’s milk melt-and-pour soap while choosing your own fragrance, colors, and finishing details.
- Ages 10 and older
- $40 per participant
- Approximately 90 minutes
- Drinks are welcome; food is not permitted during the workshop
- Offered on select Friday evenings

Our Workshop Calendar is the best place to see the dates and times currently available for candle-making, perfume and cologne-making, and soap-making workshops.
Most scheduled workshops are ticketed through Eventbrite. You may also call or visit the store to purchase tickets. Tickets purchased over the phone include a 3.6% manual credit-card processing fee. Tickets purchased in person do not include an additional ticketing fee.
Our regular offerings currently include:
- Candle-making every Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
- An additional 4:00 p.m. Saturday workshop may be opened when the noon workshop is full or nearly full.
- Occasional Sunday workshops
- One perfume and cologne-making workshop per month on a Friday evening
- One goat’s milk soap-making workshop per month on a Friday evening
- Weekday candle-making walk-ins Tuesday through Thursday from 12:00–4:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:00–6:00 p.m.

Planning a Party or Group Gathering?
Celebrate a birthday, bridal shower, book club, neighborhood gathering, company outing, girls’ night, or another special occasion at our Frederick studio.
Groups may:
- Attend a scheduled workshop together
- Reserve a weekday candle-making workshop for five or more paid participants
- Reserve the entire studio for a fully private candle, perfume, or soap-making event

Have a Candle That Needs a Refill?
Our refill program allows you to bring back an eligible candle vessel—or another approved heat-safe vessel—and have it cleaned and refilled with a new fragrance.

Important Workshop Information
Our workshops are recreational DIY experiences. They are not professional training courses and do not teach participants how to manufacture candles, soap, perfume, or related products at home or for a business.
We do not provide formulas, measurements, supplier information, sourcing guidance, production instruction, or business advice during our workshops.
Personal photos and short videos for social media or personal memories are welcome. Recording workshop instruction or production processes for later reference, reproduction, training, or commercial use is not permitted.
Ticket and Attendance Policy
Workshop tickets are nonrefundable. If you cannot attend, your ticket may be transferred to another available workshop date or time when you notify us before the original workshop begins.
If we are not notified before the workshop start time, the ticket is forfeited.
Participants under age 18 must attend with a ticketed adult unless prior approval has been provided. The accompanying adult must purchase a ticket and participate in the workshop.
