Private Parties and Group Workshops in Frederick, Maryland

Celebrate, create, and spend meaningful time together at LiveYoung Candle Co.

Our Frederick studio offers creative group experiences for birthdays, bridal showers, book clubs, neighborhood gatherings, girls’ nights, company outings, and other special occasions.

Whether you want to attend one of our regularly scheduled workshops together, reserve a weekday candle-making experience for your group, or enjoy private use of the entire studio, we’ll help you find the option that fits your gathering.

Choose the Best Experience for Your Group

Join a Scheduled Workshop Together

Choose a candle-making, perfume and cologne-making, or goat’s milk soap-making workshop that is already listed on our calendar. This is the simplest option for groups that want to create together without reserving the studio exclusively.

  • Select an available workshop from our calendar.
  • Purchase one ticket for each participant.
  • Your group will be seated together.
  • Other guests may attend the same workshop.
  • The regular workshop price, inclusions, age requirements, and policies apply.

One person may call or visit the store to purchase all of the tickets together, or each guest may purchase their own ticket. We cannot hold unpaid seats or guarantee availability if some members of the group wait to purchase and the workshop sells out.

If you are bringing a large group, please contact us in advance—especially when guests are purchasing separately—so we can prepare the tables and seating.

Reserve a Weekday Candle Workshop

Groups of five or more paid participants may reserve a candle-making workshop during our weekday walk-in hours or request an additional weekday time outside those hours. This option reserves a workshop for your group, but it does not provide exclusive use of the store. The retail shop remains open, and other customers may shop or participate in a separately taught walk-in candle experience.

Pricing and Details

  • $38 per participant
  • Each participant selects and purchases a vessel separately, generally ranging from $6 to $40.
  • Minimum of five paid participants
  • Plan for approximately two hours.
  • Food and drinks are welcome.

Availability

  • Weekday walk-in hours: Tuesday through Thursday, 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.; Friday, 12:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
  • Additional weekday reservations may be requested Monday through Friday, with start times from 11:30 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.
  • All requested dates and times are subject to availability.

During walk-in hours, a formal deposit is not required, but we strongly encourage purchasing at least one ticket in advance to reserve space for your group. Without an advance reservation, participation is first come, first served and may be affected by other walk-in groups.

For an approved reservation outside walk-in hours, at least one paid ticket is required to reserve the date and time. The group must ultimately include at least five paid participants, and each participating guest purchases a vessel.

Reserve the Entire Studio for a Private Event

For a fully private experience, your group may reserve the entire studio. The store will be closed to general browsing during your three-hour event, and a private-event sign will be placed on the door. Our team may briefly assist a customer with a scheduled pickup or drop-off, but the public will not be shopping in the space.

Private groups may choose candle making, perfume and cologne making, or goat’s milk soap making.

  • Minimum purchase of 20 workshop seats
  • Space for up to 24 workshop participants
  • Three hours of private studio time
  • Access beginning 45 minutes before the event for setup
  • Cleanup takes place after the three-hour event and does not reduce your event time.

Your group does not need to include 20 guests, but the 20-seat minimum must be purchased to reserve the entire studio. If more than 20 guests will participate, a ticket is required for each additional guest, up to 24 participants.

Private-Event Pricing

Private Candle-Making Event

  • $760 minimum for 20 workshop seats
  • $38 for each additional participant, up to 24 total participants
  • Vessels are purchased separately only for the guests who actually participate in candle making, generally $6 to $40 each.

Private Perfume and Cologne-Making Event

  • $1,200 minimum for 20 workshop seats
  • $60 for each additional participant, up to 24 total participants
  • Each participant creates one 50 ml bottle.

Private Goat’s Milk Soap-Making Event

  • $800 minimum for 20 workshop seats
  • $40 for each additional participant, up to 24 total participants
  • Each participant creates three bars of goat’s milk soap.

All private events are subject to availability. We will confirm the date, time, workshop choice, and final purchasing instructions before payment.

Your Private-Event Timeline

You may arrive up to 45 minutes before the scheduled start time to set up food, drinks, and decorations. Your private reservation then includes three full hours in the studio.

For candle-making parties, the hands-on workshop commonly takes close to two hours. Private groups often move at a relaxed pace while eating, drinking, and socializing. The remaining time may be used for cake, gifts, games, book-club discussion, or simply spending time together while our team wraps the candles. Once the candles are ready, we roll them out on a rack so guests may collect them before leaving.

Cleanup takes place after the three-hour reservation. Timing for perfume and soap events will be reviewed when your event is confirmed.

Food, Drinks, and Decorations

Food, drinks, and decorations are welcome. Your group is responsible for bringing everything needed for serving and enjoying them, including cups, ice, plates, utensils, napkins, serving tools, cake-cutting supplies, coolers, and similar items. Decorating packages and serving supplies are not included.

We ask that you clean up your food, decorations, and personal items after the event. For perfume and soap workshops, food must remain covered and away from the hands-on work area during the workshop portion to help prevent contamination and avoid interfering with fragrance selection.

Guests who bring alcoholic beverages must be of legal drinking age and drink responsibly.

Age Requirements

  • Candle-making and soap-making workshops: ages 10 and older
  • Perfume and cologne-making workshops: ages 14 and older

Participants under age 18 must attend with a ticketed adult unless prior approval is provided. The accompanying adult must purchase a ticket and participate. Requests for younger participants may be considered case by case.

Payment and Reservation Policies

Submitting an inquiry does not reserve a date or hold seats.

  • Scheduled workshops: All tickets must be purchased before the workshop sells out.
  • Weekday candle reservations outside walk-in hours: At least one paid ticket secures an approved date and time, with a minimum of five paid participants required.
  • Fully private events: The 20-seat minimum must be purchased to reserve the studio.

All ticket purchases and deposits are nonrefundable. Tickets may be transferred to another available workshop date or time when we are notified before the original workshop begins. If we are not notified before the start time, the tickets are forfeited.

When Should I Book?

The sooner, the better. Holiday-season dates, evenings, and weekends can fill quickly, and we cannot guarantee that a preferred date or time will remain available. Early inquiries give us the best opportunity to accommodate your group.

Workshop Purpose and Recording Policy

Our workshops are recreational DIY experiences created for guests to enjoy together. They are not professional training courses and do not teach guests how to manufacture products at home or start a candle, soap, perfume, or related business. We do not provide formulas, measurements, supplier or sourcing information, production instruction, or business guidance.

Personal photos and short videos for social media or personal memories are welcome. Recording the instruction or production process for later reference, reproduction, training, or commercial use is not permitted. We reserve the right to decline or cancel participation when the primary purpose is commercial training or business development.
