Our perfume and cologne-making workshop is a relaxed, hands-on experience designed for fragrance lovers, date nights, birthdays, girls’ nights and anyone looking for something unique to do in Frederick, Maryland.
No previous fragrance experience is necessary. We’ll guide you through understanding different scent styles, selecting fragrances that work well together and creating your own personalized blend.

Your ticket includes the complete guided workshop, fragrance materials, one 50 ml bottle and everything needed to create and package your custom scent.
When Is the Workshop Offered?
Our perfume and cologne-making workshop is generally offered once a month on a Friday at 6 p.m.
Dates may vary, so please visit our live workshop calendar to see the perfume workshops currently available and reserve your seats.
Advance reservations are required. This workshop is not currently offered during our regular weekday walk-in candle-making hours.
What to Expect
We begin together with an introduction to fragrance and an explanation of how to approach your scent choices.
You’ll then have time to smell through the available options, identify the fragrance direction you enjoy and begin creating your custom combination. Our team will be available throughout the process to answer questions, offer suggestions and help you create a balanced finished scent.
Once you are happy with your selections, you’ll mix, bottle and package your custom 50 ml fragrance to take home that evening.
Because fragrance selection is highly personal, every guest’s finished creation will be different.
Perfume or Cologne—Everyone Is Welcome
This workshop is not limited to one type of fragrance or one type of guest.
The fragrance you create can be light, sweet, floral, fresh, warm, woody, rich, traditionally masculine or anything in between. “Perfume” and “cologne” simply help describe different fragrance preferences—the experience is open to anyone interested in creating a custom personal scent.
Drinks and Food
Guests are welcome to bring alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks. Please bring your own cups, ice and any other beverage supplies you may need.
Food is not permitted during the perfume workshop. Smell plays an essential role in creating your fragrance, and food aromas can interfere with the experience for you and the other guests.
Guests bringing alcohol must meet all applicable age requirements and enjoy it responsibly.
Age and Adult Participation
Perfume and cologne-making workshops are designed for guests ages 14 and older.
Anyone under 18 must participate with a ticketed adult unless LiveYoung Candle Co. has provided prior approval for another arrangement. An adult attending to assist or supervise a minor must also purchase a workshop ticket and participate.
Please contact us before purchasing tickets if you have questions about whether the workshop is appropriate for a particular guest.
Arrival and Timing
Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. Fragrance selections are made after the workshop begins, so there is no need to arrive early to choose scents.
The workshop begins as a group because the introductory information will help guide your fragrance decisions. If you are running late, please contact the store as soon as possible.
Plan to spend approximately two hours with us from the scheduled start time through completing and packaging your fragrance.
Cancellation and Ticket-Transfer Policy
All workshop ticket sales are final and nonrefundable.
If you are unable to attend, your ticket may be transferred to another available workshop date or time. You must contact LiveYoung Candle Co. before the original workshop’s scheduled start time to request a transfer.
If you contact us after the workshop has begun or do not attend without notifying us in advance, your ticket will be forfeited and cannot be refunded or transferred.
Workshop Purpose & Recording Policy
LiveYoung Candle Co. workshops are recreational, hands-on experiences created for guests who want to explore fragrance, connect and enjoy making something personal. They are not professional perfumery training courses or instruction for manufacturing fragrance products, teaching workshops or starting a perfume business.
To protect our proprietary processes, we do not provide formulas, measurements, supplier information, sourcing guidance, production training or business advice during our workshops.
Photos and short videos for personal memories and social media are always welcome. Recording our instruction, demonstrations, fragrance-development process or production methods for reference, reproduction, training or commercial purposes is not permitted.
LiveYoung Candle Co. reserves the right to decline or cancel a registration when a workshop is being attended primarily for professional training, business development or reproduction of our workshop format.

What will I make?
Each guest will create and take home one full-size 50 ml custom perfume or cologne.
Do I need any fragrance experience?
Not at all. The workshop is designed for beginners. We will introduce the fragrance options, explain how to approach your selections and help you throughout the process.
Can I create either a perfume or a cologne?
Yes. You can create a fragrance based on your personal scent preferences, including fresh, woody or traditionally masculine fragrance styles.
Can I blend fragrances in this workshop?
Yes. Unlike our candle-making workshop, the perfume and cologne-making experience is specifically designed to let you combine fragrance options and create a custom personal scent.
Will everyone make the same fragrance?
No. Each guest selects their own fragrance direction and creates an individual custom blend.
Can I bring food?
No. We ask guests not to bring food because competing aromas can interfere with everyone’s ability to smell and evaluate fragrances. Alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks are welcome.
Can someone attend without making a fragrance?
Every person attending the workshop area must purchase a ticket and participate. This includes adults attending to assist or supervise a guest under 18.
Can I make more than one bottle during the workshop?
Each workshop ticket includes making one 50 ml custom perfume or cologne. Additional bottles cannot be made during workshop hours so that every guest has enough time and support to complete the included experience.
After the workshop has ended, guests are welcome to visit our in-store fragrance bar to shop sample perfumes and other bottle styles. Our team can also mix additional perfumes through the walk-up fragrance-bar service, subject to current availability.
What happens if I cannot attend?
Contact us before your workshop’s scheduled start time. Although tickets are nonrefundable, we can transfer your ticket to another available perfume workshop when advance notice is provided.
Tickets are forfeited when a guest does not attend or contacts us after the workshop has already begun.
Is this professional perfumery or business training?
No. This is a recreational DIY experience. We do not provide formulas, supplier information, production training, workshop-training materials or business instruction.
